Just a little insight on my part for you here.. In the beginning of Satan’s life, he was known as Lucifer, son of the morning. He was the most beautiful of all of God’s angels and favored trusted and loved by God. However Lucifer became vain in his beauty, and desired to be equal with God, and rule as God does. This resulted in a war in heaven and a third of the angels sided with Lucifer. These "fallen angels" are what we would call Demons. I would point out though that this is not what everyone believes about demons. There are other understandings and ideas about them, what they are, their purposeses and so forth. This is just the basic Christian understanding of them, that they are fallen angels. I would also tell you that the whole full story of Satan and demons is not in the bible. There are only bits and pieces of it, which we have put together through a lot of conjecture and oral tradition. I may have shared this with you before but if not, if you ask me sometime I'll tell you how I think Satan was born in the desert during the fourty years of wandering that the Israelites did after there slavery to Egypt before entering Cannan. Yes, there are many websites Forseeker.. You are spelling it wrong. it is Demonology This is a Catholic take on it.. www.newadvent.org/cathen/04713a.htmHere is a different one.. www.djmcadam.com/demons.htmand another www.occultopedia.com/d/demonology.htmand a Christian one. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_demonologythere are lots more... Hope this helps.

Ok well people tell me that demons have no power until they take over a body. Well dont they have to know a little something to push the person to the point where they can take over their body? And those storys of people waking up and they have marks like someone cut them on their body's or like claws. Does that mean they did them or is this possible?

First - I want to agree with most of what SageStranger has said - but I must take exception to one thing - and it isn't too serious - but it is disturbing to me - Lucifer was never ever Satan's name - this name was created by Jerome - in the Latin translation of the Hebrew scriptures... in fact - many don't know this - but Jesus was also called lucifer in Latin... for more info on this - you can check out this article that details the whole error - www.happyjesusday.com/lucifer.htmlalso - the Bible doesn't have the whole story on demons - another book worth checking out is Enoch - particularly about the angels and fallen angels - and how they affected mankind - www.ancienttexts.org/library/enoch/1watchers/watchers.htm

That is very odd. Yeah studying the bible is fun. But I was sure that satan was named Lucifer so what you said is very odd and interesting to me. Very... odd.

yeah - I was stunned too - you won't find Jesus called lucifer anywhere but the Latin - but it is bizarre that Jerome decided to use the term for both Jesus and Satan - almost diabolic.

Thank you for that information Christofer, is that your website you point to there? I read through the information you give there and I'm sure it's accurate and you are correct about that name Lucifer. However I would just point out that this is the traditional belief and thats what I was putting out there, this is what is commonly believed. One thing I think we need to keep in mind is that ideas and theologies expand and change over time. Whether thats a good thing or not, it happens. I can't say that everything I've been taught about God, satan, the Bible, the Church, or religion is exact truth, in fact I know that there are many things that we are mistaken about. As Paul said, "for now we see through a glass darkly" aye? I believe that the idea of Satan all together came quite a ways into the Jewish belief system. At first I don't think they believed in satan at all. I don't think that the serpent in the garden was originally supposed to be satan. I think thats something we've read into it. But anyway, I do appreciate your corrections there on the Lucifer name. Quite interesting... GBWY!

tornsoul - well - Jesus is described as 'lucifer' (morning star) - but His name is still Jesus Sage - Yes - that's my site - and I apologize if I come on strong against the traditional name 'Lucifer' - it is just one of those pet peeves of mine I guess. I really don't mind people who use that name for Satan - I just know most people don't realize the problems with it, and I feel convicted to speak. and you are also right - about theology expanding and changing. It is almost impossible to know for sure on certain exact details about God and the scriptures because it is like trying to divide the milk from the egg in cooked scrambled eggs - so we are left to pray and reason together in hopes of being true to Him. I agree that originally the Jews probably didn't have a concept of Satan - and that we have read into the serpent - but it is interesting that the book of 'Job' - which is actually one of the oldest Jewish writings despite its placement in our Bibles. Estimates of its origin range from 1500 B.C. to 600 B.C. and it is assumed that it takes place between Noah and Moses - does contain Satan. At some point between Moses and that book - the concept was introduced - presumably by God -
