Ace -- the big question is - does God believe in you? I do believe in some entity that helped create the world, but I think the bible and most major religions are big steaming piles of.... baloney. Anyone who has the ass to say "I know exactly what God wants" is the LAST person I'd trust to teach me. Just like the only person fit to rule the galaxy is the person who under no circumstances would take the job. (thanks, Douglas Adams.) I formed my religion on beliefs I like, and think make sense. I like the path of the Tao, I like native spirituality. I don't believe in reincarnation, and am not sure if there's an afterlife. I like the seventh book of the Chronicles of Narnia. Read it if you ever want to hear a good philosophy on which religion is correct, and what afterlife might be like. People look at me strange and ask if there's no afterlife, what woudl stop you from kilingl people? I mean, no eternal d**nation, no pitchfork-weilding demons, what's to stop you? Think of two glasses in your kitchen. One you got at a dime toss at a bazaar, the other is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of Waterford Crystal with your name hand-etched on it. If you break the cheap one, well, there's a hundred like it at the thrift stores. But the unique one... I think each life is that piece of waterford crystal. If you break one, it can never be replaced. That's what gives me the high respect for life. *shrug*

And this is exactly why I follow the path of Paganism, as taught to me by my great-grandmother. True Wiccans NEVER force their beliefs on anyone and have the utmost respect for others, no matter what path they have chosen for themselves.

I'm not religious, but I'm actually quite interested in religion itself. I find the thought behind many of the bible stories very intriguing. Hell, I've argued with my friends enough about religion that many of them believe I'm Chrisitian.

Hmmmm religion, one of the things that everyone has an opinion upon.Myself,I really dont know,if there isan God that rules the universe and everything, than why would there be so many branches,it all revolves from opinions.Look the bible was written by mankind, man is not perfect I dont have to read the bible to know that but yet mankind is,we dont know what perfect is.If no one's perfect, and im a no one.Than logic states I am perfect. On the itherhand logic states perfection to be innocent,as none of us will ever be innocent, preacher to satanist,i believe religion was intended to be an idea.I myself like native spirituality. And as far as wicca goes,I am a Druid. If you are curiouse to know more contact me its not that hard.Back to the subject. You cant ban people because of an opinion, thats like fighting a war for peace,or f**king for virginity. It's not right. So do I belive in God.Who am I to deny that an entity exhists or doesnt, when i die I'll find out.As for devotion,I devote myself to my writing,to try and change the world and let them see beyond the rainbows, the rainbow has a shadow that shadow has a heart, the heart is tainted with sorrow,i am that malencholy and intern i am nothing as is this plain of exhistance....

Elegy, had to respond to ya on this one bro. Not to tell you how you are wrong, but to agree with you on some of those things. Yes there are many branches of religion. I kind of see it this way, and this is not nessesarily the mainstream veiw by any means but. I see us all as basically heading toward the same goal or destination but there may be many roads that you could take to reach the same place. Just like if I were going to Livingston, I might take old 42, you might take 111, someone else might come in from the Gainsboro side but we are all trying to get to the same place. At the same time, even the people who are taking the same path, are at different points along that path, maybe you're almost there, and I'm just getting started or visa versa. One thing about Christianity that I like is that most all the other belief systems are more of a man seeking God or something like God, Christianity is different in that it is God seeking us! He desires to have a relationship with us. John 3:16 I don't see Christianity as being about religion, its about relationship... I would also agree with you that the Bible is not perfect and that it is written by people who aren't perfect. There is no doubt in my mind about that being true. However the really neat thing is that God is able to use the imperfect things of this world to accomplish His perfect will. I don't think there are any perfect things formed from this world because this world is not about perfection. Perfection comes only from beyond this world and it's a place I think that we as God's beloved creation can reach someday. Not here, not in this existance but beyond it. I tell you something, when I applied to college at TTU, they had a blank to fill in on what religion you were and guess what I put in it? --- Druid... lol wild huh? I just felt like "who are they to ask me that" but that was back when I was really rebellious against authority of any kind. Still am to some degree lol.... But yeah I would go around and every now and then I'd just stop and hug a tree just to make everyone look at me funny. hehe Anyway, enough commentary. I appreciate you and your oppinions and insights. Blessings 2 U! Mike

Ace - at the risk of being banned - I didn't believe when I was a teen either - life has many years in it - and it wasn't till I was 31 that I truly came to believe - here's to hoping you too might come around later in life.

What happened to Ace? I hope all is well. This is the one thing I don't like about any message board - because when people stop visiting - they simply disappear - there's no way of knowing if they got bored - moved to new interests - got off line - died - etc. For the record - Ace in in my prayers.
